Example for an RCD Requirement

Western Automation has been providing expertise in the area of RCD technology for more than 30 years. A combination of a keen insight into client needs and a clear understanding of international standards enables us to develop leading edge RCD technology tailored to the specific needs of our customers.

Typically, a customer will come to Western Automation with a need for an RCD product that they wish to make. It may be for example a single pole Residual Current Circuit Breaker with overcurrent protection or a two pole Residual Current Circuit Breaker or possibly a DC protecting Residual Current Circuit Breaker. We will meet with the customer and discuss their requirements in detail to ensure that we have a clear understanding of the customers’ needs. From this we draw up a Design Brief that we review with the customer. This document then becomes the ‘Commencement of Development Process’ and it is our job to design an electronic package that fits precisely with our customers’ requirements.

From here we begin prototyping and subsequently testing the solution to determine its viability in various real world scenarios. From this we go into validation and finally certification.

The typical Technology Integration Process is 12 to 18 months in duration after which point we can go into full production.

At Western Automation we work very closely with our customers through the entire development process, ensuring the right solution is provided that meets the specific needs of our customers.
