Next Generation RCD Technology - September 2011

Western Automation has developed third generation RCD technology for sensing fault currents in DC & AC supply systems, micro-generators, Photo-Voltaics (Solar Panels) and Electric Vehicles.                                        

Leakage Current Detection                 WA has developed new technology for detection of AC and DC fault currents.  This technology can be used in electrical appliances & electrical vehicles and EV charging stations.  It can also be used in electrical installations as a cost-effective alternative solution to Insulation Monitoring Devices (IMD).

MainSafe Corporation sets up a design facility in Clearwater, Florida. - June 2011

Irish company Western Automation Research & Development Ltd (WA) has announced the establishment of a sister company, MainSafe Corporation (MainSafe), in Clearwater, Florida.                                                                  

MainSafe intends to serve the specific needs of customers in the USA, Canada and Mexico by supplying its technology to provide custom designed solutions for manufacturers of switchgear and electrical accessories in the areas of Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs), Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCIs), Leakage Current Detection Interrupters (LCDIs) and Power Failure Lighting (PFLs). MainSafe will also develop a range of finished products for brand labelling by customers.

Western Automation R&D is developing Type B RCD Technology - April 2011

Western Automation has developed Type B RCD technology which meets the requirements of IEC62423. This technology is capable of sensing fault current in DC and AC supply systems. With the prolific growth in renewable energy and micro-generators, such as Photo-Voltaics (Solar Panels) and new emerging applications such as Electric Vehicle Charging stations, there is a rapidly growing need for this type of protection.

New Channel Partner for the Nordic Region, Enerpoint Oy - August 2010

Western Automation R&D Ltd is pleased to announce Enerpoint Oy as an agent for its technology in the Nordic region. Enerpoint Oy will act as the representative for the Western Automation’s proprietary RCD (Residual Current Device) and PFL (Power Failure Light) technologies, intended for Point-of-Use applications, such as thermostat controllers and electrical wiring accessories.
