Western Automation Research & Development Ltd started trading in January 1985 and is 100% privately owned. It has grown to be a respected supplier of high-quality RCD (Residual Current Device) technology to leading OEMs in the electrical industry. The company has extensive expertise in international standards.

Factfile:

• Since its foundation in 1985, Western Automation has filed more than 50 RCD related patents, and continues to file RCD based patents and more recently PFL based patents arising from new developments.
• WA is Registered to ISO9001 international quality system covering its design and supply chain processes.
• WA has developed proprietary ASICs for use in RCD products.
• WA has its own design centre which includes a comprehensive prototyping and test facility.

• IEC SC23E WG2 – RCD product standards, RCD reliability, EMC.
• IEC TC64 MT22 – Installation Rules for RCDs.
• Cenelec TC23E, as for SC23E.
• Irish and UK national Committees.
