Socket based RCDs (SRCDs) have in the past been used in only certain markets and regions. However, in 2011 IEC is publishing its first standard for SRCDs (IEC 62640) which will internationalise the use of this type of product. This offers new opportunities for OEM manufacturers of electrical accessories.
